Looking For New UO Server

Hi,

I humbly greet you!

I currently play on UO Outlands and I am constantly being defeated by waves of outnumbering reds on their server. Their new tracking system allows reds to track innocent players and vice versa. I'm fairly new to the UO scene too.

My thoughts on UO pvp are as follows so far, pvping in UO Outlands sucks. The power struggle is unreal! With the ability to script/hotkey/macro through razor and multi-client not officially allowed, but not being policed either quickly becomes a hard sell for new players to stick around.

I came across your site merely by happenstance.

Can someone explain to me what this server is known for in terms of PVE?
What sort of things separates this server/community from others, etc who also offer PVE only shards?

I was hoping to hear from people who have played on this shard for a while now, possibly 1 month or more, but will welcome any responses, humbly.

Thanks!

Well only here for 3 days so still figuring out stuff myself. What I encounterd sofar are helpfull people. They have 17 skills that don't count to yout 720 skillcap.

Forum states pvp is with consent only.

I am super craft oriented so wouldn't know about fighting gameplay, skillgain in general is fast imo and if you join discord chat you get a ticket from the admin to set 5 skills to 90 skilllevel.

Coming from another family shard (which unfortunately stopped) so far I think this is a nice one too. Some of my former co-players recommended this shard. Since I know them well I can say your good here.

Hope to see you in game.

Same, ditto, etc regarding Outlands. I’ve been here on Alive for a couple days now.

Personally, I recommend a melee character for a first toon in order to minimize the cost of development and to get your farm started.

Here’s how my first 48 hours have gone:

made a dexer…100 str, 100 dex, 25 int. I went with Mace for the solid hits, but it really is dealers choice. Swords sits in the middle as a compromise between damage and attack speed, fencing is high attack speed, low damage (generally - at least early).

the rest of my starting template was boiler plate melee….Tactics, anatomy, parry, resist I GMed before leaving New Haven. Healing was around 75 or so.

Pre- power scrolls, I picked up chivalry for buffs and map mobility but it will be dropped down as I gain scrolls.

remember, humans get a hidden 20 points in every skill as a passive.

the reason for this was I farmed the Old Haven casters, skeletal knights, and NPC reds until I had some form of luck on every armor piece as well as the shield.

If you plan on having a caster, save Lower Reagent Cost items that are 15% or more. They allow you to cast spells (of all types) without consuming reagents.

Once that goal was accomplished, I transitioned to Shame in Fel. As my luck grew, increasingly powerful items drop. With consensual pvp and a hidden bonus to luck in Fel (or so I was told), there’s no reason now to.

I keep anything above minor artifact and whatever I don’t need for luck upgrades, a luck caster suit, or LRC suit(s), I toss in the clean up chest by New Haven bank.

I used my 5x90 token on a tamer. Other options are a crafter. Check the secondary skills post here when building your template because around 17 or 19 skills don’t count towards the skill points cap.

I’m around 6 hours off from the end of my first 48 and am sitting on almost 1k luck, 2 LRC suits, 20k gold, a 32k house, and some pretty impressive (seeming) items I need to do some Googling on.

If you need a hand or see me in-game and want to party up and go hunting, my currently played characters are Sygnetix, Vallantus, and Tarquinas.

I spent a week looking for a new server after a really ad at on Outlands and found this one…I’ve hardly logged off since.

Hey welcome!

So I've been on this server for a little over 3 months. I've played lots of T2A era servers, and did some live for a few months about 6 or 7 years ago. I got the itch for UO but didn't want PvP issues because I'm too much of a care bear now, and PvP is different from how I remember with all the scripting and macros. I also wanted to play live for more content, better gear, and more in-depth character building.

This server has been fantastic. It's the first server I tried taming on, and I really enjoy running two accounts simultaneously. I've seen more of UO than I have before, and all from a less anxiety-filled perspective.

This server has multiple secondary skills that do not count towards your 720 skill cap (including the mining you're talking about). It's also very easy to gain skills and stats. It's not free, but I no longer see skill/stat gains and changes as an obstacle rather..more of realistic goal I can do while either playing the actual game, or macroing.

Custom housing, custom events, gold is account wide and no longer takes space, an attentive and respectful staff, and a community that focuses on fun gameplay and encourages rather than tries to pull a fast one on you.

The discord is often chatty, and we have a community all over the world who play all hours of the day. If you plan on giving the server a chance, I highly recommend hoping into discord.

This server is very close to OSI/live but the QOL changes, some rare pets that can spawn, and free skills allow for a better experience imo.

Hope you stick around, it's been fun.

Ahoy! - Come on in, the water is fine.

I have been here over a year and have no plans on going anywhere. Great community, great staff and all the features and content that I have kept me playing UO since it launched in 97. Come say hello on Discord and you will get a feel for the crew very quickly. The server fells 4X as big/busy now than it was a year ago, but still plenty of room for new players. Especially since UOAlive has been around for at least 6 years.

P.S. save your mythic character token (5X90 skill token) until you have played a bit. Almost every skill, including mining are pretty easy and quick to raise, but there are skills that you will likely want to use the token on.
