Our community is built on mutual respect, inclusivity, and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all members. To ensure this, we have established a Zero Tolerance Policy that is strictly enforced.

ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY

The Zero Tolerance Policy of UOAlive is a set of rules designed to maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all community members. While humor and good company are important aspects of our community, certain behaviors are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. These behaviors include, but are not limited to:

1. Sexual Harassment

Any form of sexual harassment, whether overt or subtle, will result in immediate expulsion from the site and any community you have joined. This includes inappropriate comments, advances, or any other behavior that makes someone uncomfortable. It is crucial to understand that even if someone is engaging in conversation with you, it does not mean they are comfortable with the interaction. This is especially important to recognize for interactions involving women(while also being mindful and respectful of all genders), who may feel pressured to engage despite their discomfort. Respect personal boundaries and understand the impact of your words and actions.

2. Hate Speech

Racist slurs, insulting comments about sensitive issues such as sexual orientation, and other forms of hate speech are strictly prohibited. UOAlive is committed to supporting and uplifting all members of our community, including those who identify as LGBTQ+. We stand firmly against any form of discrimination or hate speech targeting individuals based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. Our community values diversity and strives to create an inclusive environment where everyone feels respected and safe.

3. Offensive Language

The use of certain terms that are commonly used in gaming culture but can be offensive to some members of our community, including but not limited to terms for sexual assault, homophobic slurs, and other derogatory language, is not tolerated. While we do not want to censor our members, we will not tolerate the use of these terms, as they do not reflect the values or image of the UOAlive community as a whole.

4. Cyberbullying and Internet Anonymity

Cyberbullying, harassment, character attacks, and any form of abusive behavior online are not tolerated. It is important to remember that anonymity on the internet does not excuse harmful behavior. All members are expected to conduct themselves respectfully and considerately, recognizing the impact their words and actions can have on others.

This is the only warning. Our community values respect and inclusivity, and we must all contribute to maintaining a positive atmosphere. There is no other warning.

WHY THIS MATTERS:

Mental Health and Well-being

Your words and actions have consequences on others' mental health and well-being. There are human beings on the other end of those pixels, and their safety and comfort are paramount.

Community Standards

UOAlive is a community built on mutual respect. Our Zero Tolerance Policy ensures that everyone can enjoy a safe and inclusive environment, free from harassment and discrimination.

Extending Beyond Our Community

Our Zero Tolerance Policy extends beyond the boundaries of our website and community. We expect our members to conduct themselves respectfully on all social media platforms and other outlets, not just those associated with UOAlive. Bullying, harassment, character attacks, and general disrespect are not acceptable. As a private community, we reserve the right to remove any member who behaves in a manner detrimental to the well-being and reputation of our community, both within and outside of our official channels. (If you will do it somewhere else, you do not fit in with the safe space we have created here.)

Reporting and Support

If you encounter any inappropriate behavior or something we have not addressed, please open a ticket on Discord immediately. We have a team of people with diverse backgrounds, worldviews, and empathy to truly hear you. We do not take these issues lightly and will ensure they do not continue.

Final Reminder

Remember everyone, this is a game. Please play the game, not each other. There are human beings on the other end of those pixels. Your words have consequences on others' mental health, well-being, and safety. For those who ask “Why do we need this?! Freedom of speech blah blah” when the human race evolves we will adjust accordingly for now we are basing this on the actions of gaming culture and worldly culture as a whole. Sadly.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Stay safe and respectful,
The UOAlive Team
