Anatomy in Ultima Online

Anatomy plays several important roles in Ultima Online:

Active Use

  • Strength and Dexterity Check: You can actively check the Strength and Dexterity of other players, animals, or monsters.
    • Examples of messages received:
      • "Rather feeble" (1-10 Strength)
      • "Very clumsy" (1-10 Dexterity)
      • "One of the strongest people you have ever seen" (81-90 Strength)
      • "One of the fastest people you have ever seen" (81-90 Dexterity)

Passive Benefits

  • Combat Damage: Passively increases the damage dealt in combat. The damage bonus percentage increases with higher Anatomy skill levels.
    • Example:
      • 10 Anatomy gives a 5% damage bonus.
      • 100 Anatomy gives a 55% damage bonus.
  • Healing: Enhances the amount healed when using the Healing skill.
    • Healing bonus percentage = Anatomy / 6.

Defensive Ability

  • Evasion: Increases the chance to dodge blows in empty-handed combat when combined with Evaluate Intelligence.
    • Requires Anatomy of 100.0 or higher for a bonus to Evasion.

Training

  • Active Training: Use the skill button or macro and target creatures other than yourself.
  • Passive Training: Each successful hit with a weapon or fists has a chance to increase Anatomy. Also gained passively when using the Healing skill.

New Player Quests

  • In New Haven, completing quests can accelerate Anatomy skill gain up to 50 points and earn the Tunic of Guarding.
