Healing in Ultima Online

Healing skill serves as the foundation for dedicated healers or warriors in Ultima Online. Its primary functions include repairing damage, curing poison, and resurrecting player ghosts, all of which rely on skill levels in both Healing and Anatomy.

  • Repairing Damage: Possible up to 60 points in both skills.
  • Curing Poison: Begins at 60 points in both Healing and Anatomy.
  • Resurrecting: Possible at 80 points in both skills, though success may require multiple attempts initially. The maximum skill level achievable with Power Scrolls is 120.

For healers with 80 or more skill points in Healing and Anatomy, healing attempts will also attempt to remove poison and bleed effects at half the usual heal duration for self-heals. This can reduce the amount healed upon completion. The maximum heal duration is 8 seconds, reduced to 6 seconds at 100 Dexterity for self-healing, and 2 seconds when healing others.

Using Healing:

  • Employed by double-clicking bandages and targeting the damaged character's lifebar.
  • Macros or hotbar setups can streamline the process (e.g., 'bandage self' or 'bandage target').
  • Healing while taking damage may result in failure, with success influenced by Dexterity and skill levels.

Obtaining Bandages:

  • Purchase from healer shops or craft using bolts of cloth obtained from tailors.
  • Create bandages from wool or cotton harvested and processed into cloth.
  • Loot bandages from various creatures, including Mummies and Cu Sidhe, with faster kills yielding more loot.

Enhanced Bandages:

  • Enhanced via a Fountain of Life for a temporary +10 healing skill bonus, improving damage healed without permanently increasing skill levels.

Training Guide:

  1. 0 - 40 Skill: Train from Avicenna in New Haven.
  2. 40 - 60 Skill: Heal a damaged player.
  3. 60 - 80 Skill: Cure a normal poisoned player, using a poison trap box is best.
  4. 80 - 120 Skill: Resurrect a dead player (they don't have to accept the resurrection, and you will still gain).

Details:

  • At 60.0 skill in Anatomy and Healing, you can cure poison.
  • At 80.0 skill in both, you can resurrect dead players.
  • Healing attempts may be interrupted by significant damage, reducing the effectiveness of the healing.

Formulas:

  • Detailed formulas govern healing success and the effects of poison and bleed on healing outcomes.
  • Dexterity influences heal time and success rates, with slip damage scaling accordingly.
