Remove Trap in Ultima Online

Remove Trap is a skill used to disarm traps on containers and disable floor traps in various locations.

To use the Remove Trap skill:

Target the Trap: Aim at the floor trap or the container (box, crate, chest) suspected to be trapped.
Precautions: Ensure you have means to heal any damage from potential trap triggers. Failing to disarm a trap may trigger it, causing harm.

There are four primary methods to train Remove Trap:

Puzzle Boxes: Purchased from the Oddities Trader at the Lycaeum in Moonglow. Types include circuit traps, cylinder traps, and slider traps. Failed attempts do not penalize you. Solve the puzzle that appears by using the skill on the box.
Treasure Chests: Best gains but require a treasure map to be found and dug up. No minimum skill requirement for different chest levels, but the disarm duration varies with your Remove Trap skill. Ancient Chest Guardians may spawn during the dig to defend the chest.
Town and Dungeon Chests: Found in dangerous locations, these traps vary in type (dart, explosion, poison) and difficulty. A Crystal Ball of Knowledge from Ortlem The Mystic in Ter Mur helps assess trap levels.
Tinker Trapped Chests: Crafted by carpenters, requiring close skill parity between the tinker placing traps and the remover. Training both skills is needed but not necessarily on the same character.

Click the blue gem next to the skill on your Skill List.
Target the trapped item.
Success disarms the trap; failure may trigger it again, requiring another attempt.

Method 1: Train at a Tinker or Thief.
- Arrange dart-trapped boxes created by a tinker (50, 80, and 100 skill levels).
- Wear a 70 physical resistance suit due to potential damage on failures.
Method 2: Use training kits from The Collector of Oddities Trader in Lycaeum.
- Types: Slider puzzle, Cylinder puzzle, Circuit puzzle.
- Solve puzzles presented by these kits to gain skill points.
