Tactics in Ultima Online

Tactics is a crucial support skill for all warrior archetypes in Ultima Online. It significantly enhances the effectiveness of weapon special abilities and provides a damage bonus. At 100 skill points, this bonus is 68.75%, increasing to 81.25% at 120 skill points.

Your Tactics skill level determines how much of your Base Damage you can inflict on opponents. This percentage equals your skill level plus 50%. For instance, at 120 skill points, you deal 170% of your base damage, whereas a fighter with no skill in Tactics would only deal 50% of their base damage.

Unlike mages, who use Evaluating Intelligence to determine spell damage levels, warriors rely on Tactics to maximize their combat effectiveness with weapons. Tactics is essential for executing most Special Moves, although it does not affect mana consumption.

Training

Tactics skill can be developed whenever an opponent is struck with a weapon or fist. After training in disciplines such as Fencing, Mace Fighting, Swordsmanship, Archery, or Wrestling, your Tactics skill will typically reach the desired level.
